Training for the 2020/21 season

In order to resume training in a safe manner amid the current pandemic, a comprehensive risk assessment and action plan has been completed by the Bath Saracens committee. In the wake of the RFU’s recent announcement that limited contact drills are now permissible, Sarries are ready to return to training.

Here are the new key procedures that will be adhered to during training and games:

  • Disposable towels for wiping sweat will be also be made available, and these will be disposed of at the end of each session
  • Training sessions will be kept to a maximum of 75 minutes
  • Social distancing will be enforced between close contact drills
  • No player huddles
  • Players will be required to self certify at the start of each training session or game that they do not have any symptoms of COVID-19 or are living with anyone who is suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19
  • Players will have their contact details logged to aid contact tracing
  • Water bottles will not be provided, players will need to bring their own
  • One person will be responsible for storing equipment and washing rugby balls at each session
