Bath Saracens took advantage of a free weekend to travel by coach to unbeaten league leaders Amesbury for a friendly fixture. This was the third meeting of the two sides this season with the hosts winning the two league encounters.
From the kick off both sides looked to make the most of the beautiful conditions and throw the ball about at every opportunity, however solid defending limited the scoring. At the break Amesbury led by three tries to one, having also added a single conversion.
After the break the both sides continued to throw the ball around, and as the warm sunshine began to take its toll, gaps appeared in both defences and the rate of scoring increased. The hosts ran in a further five tries and Sarries replied with three of their own.
Sarries try scorers were; Paddy Thomas, Jamie Navarette (2) and Pete Baldwin. Captain Eddie Bell added two conversions to complete the scoring in an excellent game.
Sarries visit Swindon this weekend for their final league game of the season, looking to sign off with a win.
